Imaginatik History
Imaginatik was founded in 1994 by two doctoral researchers: Mark Turrell in London and Dr. Yvonne Lindow in Switzerland. From the beginning, the focus has been on Knowledge and Innovation Management, and in particular how collaborative technologies can support organizations. We pride ourselves on being 'beyond the curve' in terms of thinking, and right ahead of the curve for delivery.
The name 'Imaginatik'
The company name, Imaginatik, means "the application of imagination to technology". The term was born from doctoral research into the diffusion of collaborative technologies within companies, and was used to explain the differing approaches followed by companies when they applied similar technologies. The term first appeared as 'imaginatique' in a 1993 academic paper for "Internal Audit" - an industry publication for the audit profession. The name was later 'Germanized' with a 'k' ending and became the name of the firm shortly afterwards.
