Case Study: Cargill
Cargill is one of the largest privately held companies in the world, with over 124,000 employees in 59 countries. An international provider of food, agricultural, and risk management products and services, Cargill sells thousands of products, operates hundreds of businesses and partners with dozens of other companies, many of whom are leaders in their industries.
Cargill has been a client of Imaginatik since 2004 and has been deploying Idea Central across the entire company, calling their system i2i.
"One of the biggest benefits to us is that it allows us to work on ideas across geographies and time zones," said Ben Adamowski, Cargill senior IT business analyst and a co-facilitator for the innovation process. "We can't afford to bring everyone together in one place every time we want to brainstorm on ideas. With i2i, we don't need to."
In December 2008, Cargill launched its first-ever global idea campaign generating over 1,800 ideas. The campaign had some very impressive numbers: 1,119 employees from 67 Cargill business units submitted ideas, 45 countries were represented and ideas were submitted in 9 languages. "This is the first time we’ve ever tried to reach out to the whole world of Cargill, and it wouldn't be possible if we didn't have a system like i2i to support this initiative” said Anne Rogers, co-leader of the campaign and service manager of i2i.
